Porcupine Music Festival

More than 500 young music students in Timmins are preparing to take the stage and perform before a live audience and an adjudicator.

While stepping onto the stage can be nerve-wracking, organizers say it’s a vital step for growth. Ken Fogal, publicity director for the 78th annual Porcupine Music Festival de Musique, notes that the experience builds lasting self-confidence and elevates the students' musical skills.

This concert would've been a bit complicated to broadcast as a live event so I decided to broadcast live to tape and do the editing with graphics for a polished later broadcast. The event is done over a two week period and we decide to film the final day of the performances. The final concert will feature the announcement of the scholarships and the presentation of the Rose Bowl for best overall performance.
