Rick Mercer Report

This is a day I've had circled on my schedule for a while. Today I'm in the studio for the Rick Mercer Report. One of my favorite shows on CBC and my favorite cameraman Don Spence. I've been watching this show since 2004 when it was called Monday Report. I still remember him joking that the original show was called Monday Report until the CBC rescheduled the show to Tuesday.

Since the very beginning, I've been obsessed with the Rick Mercer Rant. The camera work and timing is so interesting, unusual and very effective. I remember watching every episode for the tilt of the camera trying to figure out his strategy. Every show it seemed to be slightly different than the last. Amazingly, I had a chance to meet Don Spence and I talked to him about it.

Studio 40. Can't believe I'm here.
